Upcoming Illustration

The second issue of My Only Hawaii will feature an article by our vice president about the final days of the Kingdom of Hawaii. I am supplying the following illustration done in Photoshop.

Originally, the topic of the article was international harmony in Hawaii and how it contrasts current tensions among Japan and Korea, among others. This was my initial sketch based on that concept: young Japanese and Korean guys sharing a pineapple. I hope finish it for my own satisfaction, asI think the drawing turned out nicely.

Whale Oil

This illustration, completed in Photoshop, is for the website of the magazine My Only Hawaii. The first issue features a brief column about whaling by our vice president. He discusses how whale oil was used as illumination in days of yore. http://myonlyhawaii.com/
