First Kaftor Painting

This is a finished illustration of Asterion running from an ahool, a kind of legless creature mentioned in Filipino folklore. Asterion's toga is different from the design on the character sheet I posted previously. This was an effort to make it more Minoan.

As for the execution, the line art was created in Manga Studio using vectors then exported and colored in Corel Painter. 

Smokey Mo

     Here's Smokey Mo. He's a mountaintop statue on a tropical island that continuously belches smoke. Under extreme conditions, he might even spew forth hot magma. Created in Manga Studio.

Balalaika Player

     The balalaika is a unique, three-stringed Russian instrument. Players often use the thumb to finger the notes on the neck. Between this and the interesting body shape, I've wanted to incorporate balalaika players into some drawings. I've never seen a musician stand while playing, but I thought it would be an interesting pose. This drawing was made using traditional watercolors.
